A dorado lying on the deck
In the Atlantic, they call it a Dolphin or Dolphinfish, in Hawaii it’s a Mahi-mahi. On the west coast, we generally call it by its Mexican name, Dorado (so people don’t think we’re catching porpoises). Most of them we catch are around 10-15 lbs.

Peter holding a 43-lb dorado This is one of my biggest dorados (I caught two 43 pounders that day). This was on the Royal Star on a 10-day trip, at the Potato Bank, nearly all the way down the coast of Baja California.
