Me with a 24 pound white seabass, taken at Point Dume aboard the Aquarius  when it ran from Malibu Pier.

The white seabass is one of the most prized inshore fish taken off Southern California. At times they go crazy out at the islands and people catch boatloads of them, but I’ve never gotten in on a bite like that. Still, if you work at it, fishing big baits off local boats, you can occasionally catch one.
